Abstract

La proliferación del caracol gigante africano (a. fulica) se ha convertido en una problemática de carácter zoonótico y ambiental para el territorio nacional. En el departamento del Tolima desde el año 2012 se ha evidenciado la presencia de a. fulica ocasionando diferentes afectaciones a cultivos y la depredación de especies endémicas. Por medio de una revisión bibliográfica se pretende evaluar y dar conocimiento sobre el estado del manejo y control del caracol africano en el municipio de Melgar Tolima, en el cual se ha datado de manera exponencial la proliferación de esta especie desde el año 2016. Así mismo se brindan mecanismos de articulación con diferentes entes regionales y territoriales para aunar esfuerzos en temas de erradicación y control en compañía de las comunidades.

The proliferation of the giant African snail (A. fulica) has become a zoonotic and environmental problem for the national territory. In the department of Tolima since 2012 the presence of a. fulica causing different affectations to crops and the predation of endemic species. By means of a bibliographic review, the aim is to evaluate and give knowledge of the state of the management and control of the African snail in the municipality of Melgar Tolima, in which the proliferation of this species has been exponentially dated since 2016. Likewise, Articulation mechanisms are provided with different regional and territorial entities to join efforts on eradication and control issues in the company of the communities.
