Abstract

The present argumentative essay has been developed in order to show why it is so important that SMEs use as reference the conceptual framework of internal control most recognized worldwide COSO model. The problem of success in SMEs lies basically in weaknesses in the financial, administrative and operational, making the inappropriate use of informality which has created several disadvantages with respect to the permanence and growth of the same at the international level, since in the development of its activities is evident, duplication of functions, misuse of resources, among others. As a solution to this problem, the use of the COSO model as an internal control tool is proposed, all in turn, that this model incorporates an effective tool that manages to minimize risks and avoids the misuse of resources due to the lack of knowledge in the development of activities or the improper use of machinery for these reasons, it is important to implement a system of control, evaluation and periodic review of processes taking into account or reference the principles and policies determined in the COSO III report.
