Se da a conocer los conceptos más significativos y la estructura de un estado de flujos de efectivo, enfocándolo principalmente a la presentación del estado por el método directo (MD) y la importancia de elaborarlo al momento de informar los resultados financieros y económicos de la entidad, para que la gerencia pueda realizar una mejor gestión al evaluar la capacidad de la entidad de generar flujos de efectivo. Conociendo que en Colombia y el resto de los países de Latinoamérica el estado de flujos de efectivo se presenta a través del método indirecto, se exponen razones por las cuales se recomienda preparar y presentar el estado de flujo de efectivo MD.
