Se da a conocer los conceptos más significativos y la estructura de un estado de flujos de efectivo, enfocándolo principalmente a la presentación del estado por el método directo (MD) y la importancia de elaborarlo al momento de informar los resultados financieros y económicos de la entidad, para que la gerencia pueda realizar una mejor gestión al evaluar la capacidad de la entidad de generar flujos de efectivo. Conociendo que en Colombia y el resto de los países de Latinoamérica el estado de flujos de efectivo se presenta a través del método indirecto, se exponen razones por las cuales se recomienda preparar y presentar el estado de flujo de efectivo MD. The most significant concepts and the structure of a cash flow statement are disclosed, focusing mainly on the presentation of the statement by the direct method (MD) and the importance of preparing it at the time of reporting the financial and economic results of the entity, so that management can perform better management when evaluating the entity's ability to generate cash flows. Knowing that in Colombia and the rest of the Latin American countries the statement of cash flows is presented through the indirect method, reasons are presented for which it is recommended to prepare and present the statement cash flows MD.
