Abstract

In this work, principal components analysis (PCA) was performed through remote sensing a remote sensing of the The Crosta technique was used to identify hydrothermal alterations in a Landsat 8 image of 2017, cut out by the geothermal area of interest (AOI) called "San Diego" by the geothermal group of the Servicio Geológico Colombiano (SGC), in order to evaluate its effectiveness or scope in areas with dense vegetation such as the one studied here. Taking into account the spectral properties of the minerals subject to analysis, the OLI 2 5 6 and 7 bands were used as input bands for analysis of four, three and two components in the determination of clay minerals and OLI bands 2, 4, 5 and 6 input for the analysis of four principal components for the identification of oxidation zones, which were carried out in the PCI Geomática 2016 program. Hydrothermal alterations, especially in the identification of oxidation zones in which it was not possible to obtain a result for interpretation. However, with the C4 component of four component analysis to identify clay minerals, small areas are delineated toward the center and west of the study area, although the results are not the most favorable. The application of PCA in cases similar to this study is not suitable. Especialización
