Abstract

The Municipy of Medina, located south-east of the Department of Cundinamarca, has been continuously affected by natural threat such as landslides, floods, avalanches, avalanches, lateral undermining of rivers and rock falls. These events are mostly linked to the intenses precipitations and a very particular orogenic system that makes up the Colombian llanero piedmont. These events are the object of study for the elaboration of a map of susceptibility of natural threats at a scale of 1 / 100,000, in which it establishes the zoning of the areas with greater and lesser probability that these events present themselves. Mapping for the elaboration of the susceptibility map was performed based on a multicriteria analysis, where thematic layers and / or conditioning factors are: Geomorphology, Slopes, Geology, Soils and Covering of the Earth, which were assigned a weight percentage, by its level of influence. This map constitutes a very important cartographic input that shows the susceptibility of the terrain to natural events. It shows three degrees of susceptibility, varying from average to very high threat and by which it was found that 90% of the Municipality is in high to very high threat due to the influence of terraces of accumulation, high slopes, Soil erosion and anthropic actions, very clayey soils with presence of porosity, highs precipitations, among other factors, causing removal of material.
