Abstract

For years we have studied the incidents that have environmental conditions on the behavior of an asphalt mixes. For that reason it has been researched and experienced in seeking to identify damage that causes the relative humidity (RH) in the mechanical and dynamic properties of an asphalt hot mix with grain MDC19. For this analysis were conducted laboratory such as resilient modulus (Mr), RTI, Phoenix and SCB tests, for which test pieces were subjected to controlled conditions of two temperatures (30 and 40 ° C) were manufactured and three different percentages of relative humidity (60, 75 and 90%), which thus can be comparable with virgin samples (without conditioning). The results show that the presence of relative humidity within the structure of the asphalt mixture produces a change in their behavior decreasing resistance to cracking and crazing, among other damage, showing that asphalt samples subjected to relative humidity have reduced the modulus value and the values of maximum load (kN), for each of the tests performed, where asphalt mixtures preconditioned at 40 ° C are the most affected. vicerrectoría de investigación n de la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, en especial al proyecto de investigación de alto impacto IMP-ING-2132.
