Ventajas y Usos del Concreto Reciclado

Abstract

The high infrastructure investment by public and private sectors in Colombia, has generated an increase in the concrete production in the country during the recent years. Several studies show an increase in the concrete what evidence an increase of demand of materials and involves the generation of higher volume of waste from construction and demolition that generates a high impact on the environment. The article shows how different countries have developed rules and laws to take action on environmental regulations about the use of recycled concrete, and how Colombian authorities has adopted certain guidelines that allow the use and treatment of construction waste. It details the recycled concrete appears as an innovative option because it reduces construction waste and prevents the explotation of non-renewable raw materials, this is supported by the progress that its implementation has had and the environmental benefits of its use.
