Este ensayo proyecta abordar la aplicabilidad de la revocatoria del mandato en Alcaldes como mecanismo de democracia participativa, desde, la identificación de la eficacia del procedimiento señalado para llevar a cabo la revocatoria del mandato en Alcaldes como mecanismo de participación ciudadana, establecido en la Constitución Política de 1991, que definió a Colombia como un Estado Social de Derecho, pluralista, donde el pueblo es el titular de la soberanía la cual es ejercida por medio de los representantes elegidos popularmente. De la misma manera, el método de investigación empleado es el inductivo, ya que luego de observar, analizar y clasificar información general se pretende otorgar al lector una conclusión de carácter general que de respuesta a lo estudiado. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the applicability about of the mayor´s power revocation like a mechanism of participatory democracy, from the efficacy identification of that procedure to carry out the mayor´s power revocation like a mechanism of citizen participation, established in the 1991 politic constitution, it defined to Colombia like a social and democracy state, pluralist, where the people are the sovereignty focus and it sovereignty is applicate by people representative popularly chosen, in the other hand, the investigatory method used is called inductive method, because after to observe, to analyze and to classify general information we want to give to readers a conclusion of general category about the study topic.
