Asphalt layers of highways are deteriorating for different reasons, presenting thermal expansion cracking, oxidation and premature aging ... etc. The modified asphalts, given its characteristics for physical and chemical changes within the mixtures, which tend to the improvement in the behavior of the same, should be considered for use in important ways and in certain climates and room temperatures. The point is being made by the IDU and INVIAS as state entities and executing the programs of road construction, to implement this kind of asphalt.
