Bienestar en alumnos universitarios y su influencia sobre el abandono de los estudios

Abstract

La transición a la Educación Superior representa un hito significativo en la vida académica del alumnado. El paso de un entorno más estructurado y con un ritmo de aprendizaje más gradual a la universidad, donde se exige una mayor autonomía y responsabilidad, puede generar un elevado nivel de estrés y ansiedad que perjudique el bienestar de los estudiantes. Por ello, el estudio del bienestar ha ganado relevancia en las últimas décadas, abordándose desde diversas perspectivas. En la presente Tesis Doctoral, se adopta la definición propuesta por Dodge et al. (2012), la cual enfatiza en el equilibrio entre las demandas del entorno y los recursos personales. Así, se exploran el estrés académico y la ansiedad ante la evaluación como desafíos derivados del ambiente universitario y la resiliencia como habilidad esencial para afrontarlos. Además, dado que los bajos niveles de bienestar pueden impactar en la trayectoria académica del alumnado, se aborda la intención de abandonar la universidad.
