Plasma rico en plaquetas puro en patología artrósica femoropatelar en pacientes jóvenes

Abstract

El síndrome del dolor femoropatelar (SDFP) incluye diferentes entidades, como la artrosis femoropatelar, siendo el diagnóstico más común en medicina deportiva. Los grupos de edad más afectados por el SDFP son adolescentes y adultos jóvenes y su tratamiento inicial es el conservador, consistente en toma de antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINEs), rehabilitación y diversos tipos de infiltraciones intraarticulares. Si estas terapias no son efectivas y el SDFP es causado por artrosis, la alternativa es la cirugía. A pesar de que en los últimos años el estudio de la medicina regenerativa, en general, y del plasma rico en plaquetas (PRP), en particular, está en auge en el ámbito de la traumatología, existe muy poca literatura acerca de su efectividad en la artrosis femoropatelar secundaria a SDFP. En este trabajo, describimos los resultados del uso de un PRP específico (realizado en banco de sangre local) en pacientes con este tipo de artrosis y analizamos su eficacia como alternativa a la cirugía.
