Turismo de Salud en el Principado de Asturias

Abstract

El Turismo de Salud se comenzó a desarrollar como tal a partir del siglo XIX. Sin embargo, se han encontrado evidencias que remontan los desplazamientos por motivos de salud de diversas civilizaciones de la antigua Grecia y Roma e incluso Mesopotamia para el tratamiento de diversas dolencias y mejora de salud, por lo que podemos entender como turistas de salud a aquellas personas que se desplazan fuera de su lugar de residencias para recibir atención especializada. Existen dos tipologías referidas al Turismo de Salud: turismo médico y turismo de bienestar, ambos tienen el mismo fin que es la búsqueda de la eterna juventud y el envejecimiento saludable. La consecución de este trabajo de investigación se orientó a partir de una investigación documental, mediante el análisis de información y datos estadísticos generados por diversas instituciones. A lo largo del trabajo se profundizará en las diferentes categorías que componen el Turismo de Salud, diferenciando entre turismo médico y turismo de bienestar, primero a nivel internacional y a posteriori nacional. Para finalizar, se profundizará en los recursos disponibles en cuanto a Turismo de Salud en el Principado de Asturias. Con estos datos se realizaron dos matrices, una DAFO para realizar el análisis de la situación del Turismo de Salud en Asturias y otra CAME, así como el diseño de estrategias de marketing posibles para mejorar su oferta y desestacionalizar el turismo.
