Inervación propioceptiva de la faringe

Abstract

Los reflejos son respuestas motoras automáticas e involuntarias a estímulos sensitivos específicos. La actividad refleja alcanza gran complejidad a nivel de la faringe puesto que esta participa en múltiples funciones que tienen su base en actividades reflejas como tragar, succionar, respirar, hablar, masticar, las nauseas, el vómito, la tos o el ronquido. Cabe esperar por tanto que los receptores que desencadenan estas respuestas sean estructuras nerviosas capaces de transducir estímulos de acortamiento-estiramiento muscular y convertirlos en impulsos nerviosos. No obstante también es posible que las aferencias de los músculos faríngeos tengan exclusivamente base molecular y cualquier nervio sensitivo pueda conducir estímulos mecánicos al sistema nervioso. En los últimos años se han descubierto diferentes familias de canales iónicos que intervienen en la mecanorrecepción. El presente trabajo fin de master está estructurado en dos partes, la primera es una revisión de la propiocepción orofaríngea, la segunda consiste en un trabajo de experimentación encaminado a la búsqueda de propioceptores u otro tipo de mecanorreceptores en la musculatura faríngea humana, así como la detección inmunohistoquímica de algunas posibles mecanoproteínas en las paredes de la faringe humana
