Relevancia de la vitamina D3 en la reproducción

Abstract

Esta revisión bibliográfica ofrece una actualización sobre la importancia de la influencia de la Vitamina D3 (VD3) en el ámbito de la reproducción humana y sintetiza los conocimientos existentes en la bibliografía al respecto. Para ello se han realizado búsquedas en las bases de datos Pubmed y ScienceDirect y en base a los estudios y revisiones analizadas se ha evaluado la influencia de la VD3 en la fertilidad masculina y femenina y en algunas patologías reproductivas en mujeres: síndrome de ovario poliquístico (SOP), endometriosis, miomas uterinos y fallos implantatorios. Se ha planteado la hipótesis de que la VD3 es una hormona que influye positivamente en las características reproductivas pudiendo mejorar los síntomas de las patologías y el éxito de la reproducción. Esta hipótesis se ha visto sustentada por la información examinada, aunque se requieren más estudios para confirmar la rentabilidad del análisis y suplementación de VD3 para tratar estas patologías.
