Consecuencias psicológicas del terrorismo.

Abstract

Los atentados terroristas provocan importantes secuelas psicológicas tanto en los propios supervivientes como en la población general. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar la bibliografía existente en los últimos años para determinar cuáles son los principales cuadros psicológicos derivados de los actos terroristas y especificar cuáles son las variables predisponentes a padecer este tipo de trastornos. Para ello, se ha hecho una búsqueda sistemática en las principales bases de datos, cribándose 3206 artículos e incluyendo finalmente un total de 22. Tras analizar estas publicaciones, se llega a la conclusión de que la sintomatología ansiosa es la más prevalente en las víctimas, teniendo el trastorno por estrés postraumático un papel protagonista. Otros trastornos como la depresión y el abuso de sustancias también tienen relevancia. Algunas variables que predisponen a padecer determinados tipos de psicopatología son: el sexo femenino, ser testigo directo del atentado, tener un nivel socioeconómico bajo y pertenecer a una etnia minoritaria. Las conclusiones y limitaciones metodológicas se discuten al final de este trabajo.
