Trayectoria eruptiva del canino superior impactado con tratamiento interceptivo

Abstract

El canino superior permanente (CSP) es el diente que más tiempo emplea en erupcionar. Su vía eruptiva normal varía a lo largo de su proceso eruptivo. Diversas causas pueden producir desviaciones de este proceso y desviar al canino, hacia la línea media generalmente. El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar si, en nuestra muestra, el tratamiento interceptivo de los casos que presentan desviaciones eruptivas del CSP sirve para la normalización de dicha desviación. También se estudia la prevalencia de la alteración respecto del sexo y si es unilateral o bilateral, derecho o izquierdo. Para ello hemos analizado los resultados de 35 casos de caninos desviados, entre los 6 y los 13 años, 21 niñas y 14 niños, antes y después del tratamiento interceptivo. Nos hemos basado en la información de la norma eruptiva del canino para cada edad que ofrecen Fernández y cols y que procede de la misma fuente que la nuestra. Se ha medido la inclinación del canino antes y después de dicho tratamiento, Los resultados muestran cómo la inclinación desviada de la norma se corrige hasta valores compatibles con una erupción adecuada del canino tras tratamiento interceptivo. Como conclusión se desprende la efectividad de este tipo de tratamientos interceptivos y ampliamente documentada en la literatura.
