A case of emergence failure during the wing expansion phase in the dragonfly Aeshna juncea is reported. An immature male was found dead on 19-VII-2003 in the peatbogs of the Anayet (Sallent de Gállego, Huesca, NE Spain), with three of its wings caught in the remains of the exuvia and the left hindwing completely expanded.
