Las mariposas diurnas (Lepidoptera) de la cuenca media-alta del río Tâmega (Portugal)

Abstract

Verbatim: En la cuenca media-alta del Tâmega (distritos de Vila-Real y Braga, Portugal) está proyectada la construcción de una serie de embalses hidroeléctricos (Gouvães, Alto Tâmega, Daivões). Indudablemente, entre los grupos cuya biodiversidad y poblaciones resulta necesario evaluar están los invertebrados, y, dentro de ellos, las mariposas diurnas, teniendo en cuenta su valor como grupo indicador en ambientes terrestres y la presencia de especies protegidas en la legislación europea. El objetivo de este estudio es la evaluación de la biodiversidad, distribución y comunidades de mariposas diurnas (Papilionoidea + Hesperiidae) en la cuenca media-alta del río Tâmega. Para ello, se han realizado muestreos entre 2010 y 2011 en 64 localidades, entre ellas 12 transectos de 2,5 km con recorrido periódico, dentro de los 510 km2 del área de estudio, que se ha zonificado por embalse y distancia a las obras proyectadas. Se han encontrado 85 especies de mariposas diurnas, que representan el 37% de las encontradas en la Península Ibérica y el 62% de las portuguesas. De ellas resultan especialmente destacables Euphydryas aurinia, protegida por la Directiva Hábitats, y Maculinea alcon, especie amenazada con una distribución muy restringida en Portugal, a las que habría que añadir el árctido protegido Euplagia quadripunctaria¸ del que sin ser especie objetivo, se han localizado ejemplares aislados en la zona de estudio.
