Producción y recuperación del biogás en vertederos controlados de residuos sólidos urbanos : análisis de variables y modelización

Abstract

La materia orgánica contenida en los residuos sólidos urbanos depositados en un vertedero controlado con recubrimiento sufre un proceso de degradación anaerobia, generándose una mezcla gaseosa denominada biogás o gas de vertedero, rica en metano. Este trabajo estudia los factores que intervienen en la generación del biogás, así como aquellos que afectan a su extracción del vertedero. Para ello, se ha estudiado la red de captación de biogás del vertedero de La Zoreda (Asturias). Se han propuesto una serie de ensayos originales que permiten interpretar los fenómenos que tienen lugar en el vertedero. Los resultados obtenidos han permitido desarrollar, en primer lugar, un modelo de cálculo de la producción de biogás en un vertedero. Este modelo, junto con los ensayos de campo propuestos, son la base de una metodología para la determinación de la producción de biogás en vertederos controlados, aplicada en el vertedero de Bratovo (Burgas, Bulgaria). En segundo lugar, se ha desarrollado un modelo de la migración de biogás en el interior del vertedero. Finalmente, se ha desarrollado un tercer modelo de la captación de biogás. De esta forma, se ha definido un método de control manual para la extracción de biogás.
