Keisersnitt på eget ønske - en systematisk litteraturstudie

Abstract

Bakgrunn: Keisersnitt øker i den vestlige verden. Det er sammensatte årsaker til dette. En av årsakene antas å være kvinner som ønsker seg elektive keisersnitt uten at det foreligger medisinsk indikasjon. Hensikten med oppgaven er å prøve å forstå hva som ligger bak dette ønske. Gjennom kvalitativ forskning ønsker vi å få en bedre forståelse av fenomenet. Problemstilling er «utforsket og syntetisert kvalitativ forskningskunnskap om vestlige kvinners ønske om keisersnitt når det ikke foreligger medisinske indikasjoner». Metode: En systematisk litteraturstudie med søk i 6 databaser med til sammen 12 søkeord hvor det ble identifisert 1282 potensielt aktuelle artikler og ved bruk av kvalitativ sjekkliste har vi inkludert 12 artikler i vår oppgave, data fra 428 kvinner. 76 var førstegangsfødende. Resultater: Vi fant behov for kontroll og frykt for fødsel var i stor grad beskrivende for deres ønske, samt påvirkning fra omgivelsene.
