Apicultura en Albarracín : noticias históricas

Abstract

En nuestras investigaciones sobre la Historia de la Apicultura Española no han faltado noticias sobre la actividad apícola en la Sierra de Albarracín. Antigua es la tradición trashumante del territorio, como lo es también la de los apicultores valencianos que allí han llevado desde tiempo inmemorial sus colmenas para aprovechar las floradas más tardías. De la misma forma, la cabaña apícola del territorio marchaba a las tierras de Levante para que sus abejas libaran las flores más tempranas de la primavera meridional, básicamente romero, espliego, tomillo y sobre todo el azahar. En el presente artículo recogeremos algunas noticias de la actividad apícola en Albarracín, que pueden servir de base a posteriores estudios más profundos sobre algunos de los aspectos que aquí se dejan apuntados.
