The main objective of this work is the generation of resources and multimedia tools to support the Environmental Engineering program of the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente to high school students in the city of Cali. This is done through the development of a virtual tour through the first two stages (primary and secondary) of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), highlighting intrinsic aspects and benefits of Environmental Engineering. On the other hand, the UP4VED (Unified Process For Virtual Environment Development) methodology is used to develop the proposed objectives, where in the first instance a general analysis was carried out to define the context in which this solution is deployed. Using this methodology of several phases and incremental disciplines. The needs of the target audience were established, the project requirements were determined, the system architecture was designed, the tools to be used for the development were defined and then the solution was implemented, continuously validating with the help of usability tests, errors and defects in the multimedia system. As a solution to the exposed problem, a virtual tour was obtained, which is deployed in a web application used mainly on computers, in order to ensure the optimal deployment of the multimedia experience, which goes through various iterative processes, in which work is done in the design, prototyping and implementation. Once the tour is developed, the respective evaluation process is carried out in a real context, obtaining favorable qualitative results, which can be quantified to analyze the impact obtained through the implementation of the virtual tour to the users
