Abstract

The purpose of this article is to point out other ways to think and to study communication. That is, studying communication beyond the important process of mass mediation and the design of prescriptive strategies for improving organizational communication. To achieve this goal, I introduce a methodological matrix which allows to describe and to interpret, partially, the process of meaning production in the context of a cultural practice such as school feeding in Colombia. The examples help to illustrate the ways discursive production of this practice is determined by specific historical and social conditions, but also by the ways social actors live actively an symbolically their experience with school feeding. This procedure helps to understand communication situations that influence decisively the social construction of corporality and the knowledge relations among the social actors involved in this praxis
