Abstract

The wetland of the Lago de las Garzas Eco Park is located to the south in commune 22 of the urban area of Cali, where the tropical dry forest ecosystem, object of study of this research, is located. This wetland is more contaminated due to urban expansion, which is one of the main problems in its area of influence, causing the modification and transformation of the soil, plant cover and mainly affecting plant populations with medicinal attributes, such as the case of the Anamú (Petiveria alliacea L); for this reason its due conservation becomes necessary. The main objective of the following work is to propose environmental educational and conservation strategies for the medicinal plant Anamú (Petiveria alliacea L) of the wetland of the Eco Park Lago de las Garzas in the city of Cali. On the other hand, taking scientific research an information as a reference and to meet the objectives, the diagnosis of the current state of the Anamú medicinal plant, the environmental educational strategies and the creation of the ecological of the conservation corridor were determined. Data collection was carried out by means of the absolute density formula. Whit this formula it was posible to determine how many species of Anamú there are in the eco park. The educational strategies and the creation of the ecological corridor were carried out using the inquiry tolos for the collection of information, such as interviews, workshops and the design of the corridor. In the results obtained it was posible to determine that the abundance of the medicinal plant Anamú was 0.0638ind/m2; regarding environmental educational strategies, the results were the enrichment of an environmental awareness about the importance of conserving the Anamú medicinal plant, through environmental education workshops with audiovisual samples and evaluation crossword, in which visitors and work personnel they acquired knowledge about the benefits and uses of the plant and the implementation of the ecological conservation corridor as an educational project that favors the wetland and commune 22, where the lake is located. It can be concluded from the study carried out of the medicinal plant Anamú from the wetland of the Lago de las Garzas Eco Park that there is a lack of knowledge of its benefits and uses, which influences its state of conservation, and that therefore the implementation of environmental educational strategies will strengthen and will contribute to the survival of its management, use and conservation
