Usualmente el incremento de enfermedades es el detonante para la introducción de la ergonomía en las empresas. Sin embargo, este proceso no ocurre de manera repentina, sino a través de un proceso de maduración. En este artículo se presenta un modelo de madurez de ergonomía, que puede ser usado para evaluar la capacidad de una empresa para implementar programas ergonómicos. El modelo propuesto quedó conformado en cinco niveles: Desconocimiento, Entendimiento, Experimentación, Uso regular e Innovador. Es presentada una matriz de evaluación que permite categorizar en qué nivel se encuentra la empresa evaluada, considerando un grupo de “factores influyentes”. Often the introduction of the Ergonomics at the enterprises is detonated by the increase of injuries and illness. However, this process does not happen abruptly, but rather follows a recognizable maturation process. This paper presents an ergonomic maturity model in order to assess the capability of an enterprise for implementing an ergonomic program. The proposed model establishes five maturity levels: Ignorance, Understanding, Experimentation, Regular use and Innovation. In addition, an evaluation matrix is presented for assist the professional practitioner of Ergonomics that carries out the evaluation at the enterprise using the proposed model.
