Uso de variadores de frecuencia reduce el 9% del consumo energético anual en los equipos de bombeo de una central termoeléctrica

Abstract

Los equipos de bombeo que integran el sistema de agua alimentar de una central termoeléctrica consumen el 55% del insumo eléctrico total de la planta. El presente estudio posibilito obtener la característica hidráulica del sistema de tuberías y el efecto que la regulación de capacidad por estrangulamiento tiene sobre el consumo de potencia y la eficiencia energética. Se valoró el uso de variadores de frecuencia en la regulación de la capacidad del sistema de agua alimentar, lo cual puede reducir en un 9 % el consumo anual de energía eléctrica. Ello equivale a una reducción de 1 863 MWh/año. La inversión a realizar en tres variadores de frecuencia es de $ USD 1 170 000, con un Período de Recuperación de la Inversión (PRI) de cinco años y un Valor Presente Neto (VPN) de $ USD 1 613142, considerando un período de vida útil de los equipos de 25 años
