Efectos del entrenamiento resistido y del desentrenamiento sobre la fuerza muscular en mujeres sobrevivientes al cáncer de mama

Abstract

Las personas sobrevivientes al cáncer de mama padecen efectos adversos sobre la fuerza y su funcionalidad producto de los diversos tratamientos a que son sometidos en el proceso de curación de la enfermedad. Objetivo: Determinar la influencia del entrenamiento con resistencias en los niveles de fuerza en miembros superiores e inferiores de mujeres supervivientes al cáncer de mama, así como los efectos en el desentrenamiento de la fuerza muscular, producidos después de un periodo de descanso. Metodología: Se evaluó la fuerza máxima a 31 mujeres mastectomizadas sobrevivientes al cáncer de mama con una edad media de 56.9 ±9.7 años, mediante la prueba de 1RM en máquina de prensa de pecho y extensión de piernas, la evaluación se aplicó en tres tiempos, antes del entrenamiento, al terminar el entrenamiento de 24 sesiones y después de un periodo de descanso de 6 semanas. Resultados: Se obtuvieron mejoras en la fuerza de ambos miembros superiores e inferiores en 17.98% y 12.31% respectivamente, en el desentrenamiento se tuvieron disminución de 7.14% para miembros superiores y de 3.82% para los miembros inferiores. Conclusiones: Entrenar con resistencias del 40 al 70 % de 1RM permite ganancias significativas en la fuerza muscular y permite su mantenimiento por un tiempo razonablemente prolongado.
