La diversidad de los discursos disciplinares de la Educación Física

Abstract

Este trabajo hace un breve recorrido por las distintas acepciones del con­cepto disciplina para detenerse en la consideración del mismo como "ámbito de conocimiento", como "campo" y como "materia académica". Plantea al­gunas de las contradicciones de la disciplina como materia académica a partir del tipo de justificaciones que los discursos oficiales suelen esgrimir. ¿Es la Educación Física una "verdadera" disciplina? Es una de esas cues­tiones cuyas múltiples aristas pueden hacernos caer fácilmente en el desáni­mo. La proverbial polisemia del concepto podría ser en sí misma materia de debate, no ya epistemológico sino que incluso podría plantear controversias en el más elemental nivel semántico. Estando en el lugar en el que estamos (esta universidad, esta facultad, este congreso), no resulta demasiado difícil, al menos a priori, hacer un pri­mer cribado para quedarnos con dos de las múltiples acepciones del término disciplina, tal vez las que más discusión han suscitado en el tiempo en el que he estado vinculado a la Educación Física. Dejaremos para otro foro la polva­reda que levantaría el término "verdadera" y su familia semántica (verídica, veraz, verosímil, etc.).
