Transferencia y recepción de la novela y cine negro en España

Abstract

El artículo analiza la entrada de la novela y cine policiaco en la España de los años 50. Los primeros relatos reconocidos por la crítica como precursores o iniciadores de este fenómeno narrativo fueron protagonizados por tres detectives creados en el siglo XIX en los tres países que mayor protagonismo tuvieron en este periodo de la historia: Vidocq en Francia (1827), Aguste Dupin (1841) en Norteamérica (aunque el escenario de sus hazañas se localizara en París), y Sherlock Holmes en Gran Bretaña (1887). El tratamiento literario del crimen es un aspecto predominante en la literatura decimonónica. Escritores como Dostoievski, Balzac, Dickens o Edgar Allan Poe llenaron sus páginas de crímenes y compartieron escenario con la desproporcionada invasión de narrativa folletinesca. El escritor norteamericano llega a ser bien conocido en España en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, puesto que, desde 1957 las ediciones y reediciones de sus obras son numerosas y muchos de sus relatos se publican en revistas y periódicos, en ediciones por entregas o en conjunto con obras de otros autores. La contribución de Poe al nacimiento y desarrollo de una nueva categoría genérica no es reconocida hasta que entran en escena Conan Doyle y la primera historia de Sherlock Holmes
