Afrontamiento del estrés en estudiantes universitarios de distintos cursos

Abstract

[ES] El estudio de una titulación universitaria conlleva afrontar diferentes situaciones que representan una fuente de estrés cuando los estudiantes interpretan que carecen de recursos para superarlas. Por ello es necesario propiciar el desarrollo de estrategias de afrontamiento del estrés en los estudiantes. El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar si las estrategias de respuesta al estrés son diferentes en cada uno de los cursos que componen las titilaciones de Grado. Se evaluó a una muestra compuesta por 532 estudiantes de la Universidad de León. Las estrategias de respuesta al estrés se evaluaron mediante el empleo de la versión española del Coping Strategies Inventory, donde se distingue entre estrategias de afrontamiento y estrategias de evitación. Los resultados revelan que existen diferencias significativas entre los estudiantes de los diferentes cursos en las estrategias de evitación empleadas. Específicamente, se observa que los estudiantes de cuarto curso recurren en menor grado a estrategias de autocrítica que los estudiantes de primero y, además, los estudiantes de cuarto también emplean menos la estrategia de retirada social que los de tercero. Sin embargo, no se encontró diferencias en el empleo de estrategias de afrontamiento activo entre los estudiantes de los distintos cursos.
