Etiquetado de alimentos y sus prácticas. Conocimiento y percepción de los usuarios

Abstract

[EN] The report deepens into the analysis of the knowledge and relevance of food labeling, from the beginnings to the familiarity and perception that people have with the different stamps or elements found in it. To this end, a theoretical-conceptual framework is developed in which the signs of food labeling, the creation of the Spanish Food Code and the different types of ecolabels (Type 1, 2 and 3) and certificates that arose due to the concern for sustainability and environment are studied. In the same way, the different practices that have occurred as this trend has developed and, in particular, the connection they have with fair trade are presented. Once the above has been elaborated, an empirical framework is presented in which the survey is applied as a method for obtaining and analyzing data. This survey determines the knowledge that people have of food labeling, based on a series of questions with which results such as the frequency of purchase or the frequency of consultation of the label are obtained. Finally, conclusions are drawn together with limitations found in the study and possible suggestions for future research.
