Sistema, control y prototipo eVTOL

eVTOL system, control, and prototype

Sistema, control y prototipo eVTOL

Abstract

[EN] Nowadays, the increase in air pollution and the constant obstruction of conventional roads has led to the need to look for a solution beyond the manufacture of electric cars (as they cause more congestion on these roads). In addition to these inconveniences, there is a daily need for movement in cities. At this point, it becomes essential to search for an alternative and efficient transport, where the idea of the electric aircraft as urban and interurban transport is born. Specifically, what is known as eVTOL, an acronym used to refer to vertical take-off and landing electric vehicles, will be dealt with, so that a runway that is not too spacious is not necessary for its correct use. There are unresolved problems in terms of the infrastructure necessary for the use of such aircraft, which is why we are going to start studying fewer complex alternatives that are further away from city life, such as supply or rescue in rural areas, due to the fact that, being a much less bulky means of transport than a helicopter, it will be able to reach areas that are more complicated to reach. The work is structured in distinct parts, the first one being a contact with what this means of transport is and how it works, studying the control and loading infrastructure that its use in the real world would imply. In the second part, the work will focus on the adaptation and integration of this aircraft to the different possible environments, the environmental and structural difficulties that we would face and workable solutions to them. Finally, the project will focus on the development and construction of a scale prototype that is as functional as possible in order to visually observe its operation and the capabilities it could have.
