Líquenes como bioacumuladores de metales pesados

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de grado se centra en el estudio de algunas de las generalidades más relevantes de los líquenes, ya que al ser organismos muy dependientes de la atmósfera y del sustrato para la adquisición de compuestos esenciales y no esenciales, van a llevar a cabo un proceso denominado bioacumulación. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es el estudio de las formas que tienen los líquenes de acumular ciertos compuestos no esenciales, como los metales pesados. Además, también se mencionan los mecanismos de resistencia que han desarrollado estos organismos, para combatir los efectos que producen las altas concentraciones de metales pesados. Por otro lado, se realiza una comparación de las diferentes formas de acumular los metales pesados que realizan los líquenes y las briofitas, que corresponden con dos grupos biológicos que presentan características en común. Todo ello, es llevado a cabo mediante la búsqueda en algunas de las bases de datos más conocidas de artículos científicos publicados en la última década. Una vez que se han realizado los objetivos marcados, se puede concluir que los líquenes no son los únicos organismos capaces de acumular metales pesados eficientemente y que los mecanismos que utilizan para llevarlo a cabo son muy similares en las briofitas.
