En este trabajo se hace una presentación de los proyectos de lengua universal de Juan Caramuel enmarcados en el contexto del movimiento de creación de lenguas artificiales del siglo XVII, caracterizado por el diseño de sistemas a priori. Su variedad y complejidad les hacen merecedores de ocupar un lugar más destacado en los estudios de conjunto sobre el tema.
