Abstract

El Internet de las Cosas (IOT o Internet of Things, en inglés) es un concepto todavía bastante reciente, que representa un paso más allá en las comunicaciones en la red, según el cual estas últimas pasan a ser directamente máquina a máquina (M2M o Machine-To-Machine, en inglés) y sin ningún tipo de interacción por parte de ningún usuario. En la práctica, esto significa, en realidad, millones de dispositivos de todo tipo -equipados con todo tipo de sensores, muchas veces minúsculos de bajo consumo, del tamaño de una "mota" de polvo- y que forman redes de sensores sin hilos (WSN o Wireless Sensor Networks, en inglés) que se conectan a Internet, utilizando tecnologías como Bluetooth LE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi, etc. y posteriormente con otros dispositivos (por ejemplo, actuadores, servidores web o de bases de datos) para intercambiar información.

L'Internet de les Coses (IoT o Internet of Things, en anglès) és un concepte encara prou recent, que representa un pas més enllà en les comunicacions a la xarxa, segons el qual aquestes darreres passen a ser directament màquina a màquina (M2M o Machine-To-Machine, en anglès) i sense cap tipus d¿interacció per part de cap usuari. En la pràctica, això significa, en realitat, milions de dispositius de tota mena ¿equipats amb tot tipus de sensors, moltes vegades minúsculs de baix consum, de la mida d'una "mota" de pols- i que formen xarxes de sensors sense fils (WSN o Wireless Sensor Networks, en anglès) que es connecten a Internet, fent servir tecnologies com Bluetooth LE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi, etc. i posteriorment amb altres dispositius (per exemple, actuadors, servidors web o de bases de dades) per tal d'intercanviar informació.
