El presente artículo hace una reflexión sobre la bibliografía existente del concepto brecha digital, diferenciando ésta entre una brecha de conexión y una brecha simbólica. Se desarrolla la brecha digital como elemento de exclusión social, al impedir a los ciudadanos que se encuentran en ella un normal desarrollo de su personalidad virtual, ni puedan participar como miembros activos con ¿ciberciudadanía¿ en la sociedad-red, dentro de la perspectiva de cambio propia de la Sociedad de la Información.
This article reflects on the literature of the concept digital divide, differentiating this concept between connection divide and symbolic divide. The digital divide is developed as an element of social exclusion, to prevent citizens who are in this situation the normal development of the virtual personality, or to participate as active members with "cyber citizenship" in the network society, assuming the perspective of change that is characteristic of the Information Society.
