Abstract

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is an educational approach that seeks to promote the holistic development of individuals in relation to their sexuality, an important element in empowering adolescents. Digital health in the socio-sanitary environment opens up a range of possibilities for improving the quality of healthcare and patient management. Mobile applications have emerged as a promising tool for prevention and promotion in the field of sexual and reproductive education, providing new opportunities to access information, resources, and support conveniently, personalized, and autonomously. The objective of this work is to design a prototype of a mobile application in sexual and reproductive health to promote assertive behavior among adolescents in the canton of Azogues, Ecuador. The methodology for designing the EduPreApp prototype was through wireframes, using the FIGMA prototyping tool with images that represent the concept of the application. The quality of the app was then evaluated using the SWOT analysis tool, leading to the conclusion that the mobile solution is an initiative with great value and transformative potential. Its comprehensive, participatory, and sustainable approach contributes to improving the health and well-being of young people, strengthening their ability to make informed and responsible decisions regarding their sexuality, and thus making important contributions to society and the healthcare system in Ecuador. It helps reduce unintended pregnancies, maternal mortality, unsafe abortions, sexually transmitted infections, among others.
