Alfabetyzacja wizualna jako kompetencja współczesnego człowieka

Abstract

Human beings’ communication was based from the beginning on nonverbal communication, mostly on visual one. Visual communication has been crucial throughout the man’s development. However, speech development, development of writing and printing dominated human communication. The very idea of visual competency as an educational goal was criticized. The development of information technologies and in consequence, coming into being of visual environment as the main one for human being, caused the change of a way of reading of youngsters being deeply immersed in the digital space. As a result, the man’s thought is turning again towards visual communication, its rules and language. Nowadays, one may raise the necessity of education for being and acting in the visual space, i.e. developing the competency of visual literacy.

Człowiek zawsze przywiązywał duże znaczenie do komunikacji i komunikatów niewerbalnych, przede wszystkim tych wizualnych.
