Abstract

Tytułowa trójka pojęć: podmiot, system, nowoczesność, wyznacza pole analiz prowadzonych w tej książce. Jest to filozoficzno-socjologiczna analiza ulubionych dystynkcji współczesnej socjologii: podmiotowość versus system, działanie kontra struktura, człowiek a system. Wybór pola badawczego wynika z założenia, wedle którego w socjologii najpełniej realizowała się samowiedza nowoczesności. To ona właśnie jest główną bohaterką książki, mimo że explicite bardziej obecna jest problematyka podmiotowości i ujęć systemowych.
