Wolontariat w planowaniu kariery zawodowej studentów

Abstract

The monograph Voluntary work in planning student careers comprises five chapters. Reflections and research interests focus on three main areas: voluntary work as a form of education and a means to gain qualifications, the situation of young people on the labour market and the need for career planning. This publication presents the benefits voluntary work has for volunteers, beneficiaries, cooperating institutions and society. The findings presented in the final chapter indicate that students view voluntary work as a highly effective form of career planning and gaining work experience. Becoming involved in voluntary work boosts their chances on the job market. It also provides an opportunity to discover more about oneself – one’s capabilities and limitations, one’s predispositions; it offers an chance to acquire new skills and develop existing ones, develop one’s character and forge valuable relationships which might evolve into professional contacts.
