Redes sociales que establecen las madres comunitarias del programa Hogares de Bienestar

Abstract

ResumenEste estudio describe cómo son las redes sociales de las madres comunitarias del barrio Villa del Carmen, teniendo en cuenta su estructura y la forma como interactúan sus miembros. Las redes sociales funcionan como una alternativa natural de sobrevivencia, particularmente en condiciones de marginalidad. Le permiten al individuo enfrentar con éxito situaciones críticas que difícilmente podría resolver solo y sin ayuda. Así, las redes sociales se convierten en situaciones tendientes a mejorar la calidad de vida de los individuos, permaneciendo como un recurso potencial inherente a la comunidad misma. Los resultados presentados corresponden a una investigación de tipo descriptivo, en términos de la estructura e interacción de las redes sociales de las madres comunitarias de esas comunidades en desventaja socio-económica. El instrumento utilizado fue una adaptación del cuestionario de redes sociales diseñado por Guimón y Escobar, Universidad de UCLA. Los resultados están integrados en aspectos cuantitativos y cualitativos.
