Abstract

ResumenEl espacio público como elemento estructural del sistema urbano en las ciudades ofrece grandes oportunidades de intervención para impactar la cultura y la calidad ambiental. Esta investigación logró, como parte de sus resultados, priorizar las 15 variables ambientales más importantes, a partir de las cuales se logra potencializar en el espacio público el mejoramiento de la calidad ambiental urbana y la cultura ambiental en ciudades intermedias. La intervención de las variables identificadas facilita la gestión municipal para el mejoramiento, la preservación y la conservación de este espacio en el marco de la construcción de ciudades más sostenibles. Abstract Public space as a structuring element in the city and the urban system offers great intervention opportunities to impact the culture and environmental quality. This research was successful as part of their results to prioritize the 15 most important environmental variables, from which it is achieved to potentiate in the public space the improvement of urban environmental quality and environmental culture in intermediate cities. The intervention of the variables identified facilitates the municipal management in order to improve, preserve and conserve this area as part of the building of more sustainable cities.
