Sistema de biotelemetría para ambulancias (Fase 2)

Abstract

A mediados del año 2000 se inició una investigación titulada Sistema de biotelemetría para ambulancias (Fase 2), la cual busca mejorar las condiciones de traslado del paciente en una ambulancia brindando una herramienta que permita ampliar el apoyo profesional que requiere un paciente para su atención a través de la integración del personal de urgencias en el hospital y los paramédicos encargados de atender directamente la emergencia. Todo esto conduce a un aumento de las esperanzas de supervivencia del paciente en el traslado y de las posibilidades de recuperación en el hospital, dada la atención y preparación oportuna.Esta investigación es la segunda etapa de unos desarrollos previos implementados por dos estudiantes de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana como requisito para obtener el título de ingeniero electrónico en la ciudad de Santa Fe de Bogotá en el año 1999. En esta segunda fase se diseñaron unos avances tecnológicos que mejoran la forma de transmitir los datos adquiridos en la ambulancia y que son enviados hacia el hospital, aumentan la cantidad de información disponible para el diagnóstico y brindan más herramientas para el análisis de lo ocurrido durante el viaje. En este artículo se describen los antecedentes, objetivos y resultados de la investigación.
