Abstract

Dada la creciente acogida que ha tenido la filogenética en la comunidad científica cómo método de clasificación y análisis de especies, esta técnica esta siendo empleada a nivel mundial cada vez más en la determinación de patrones que permitan una clasificación de muestras de virus obtenidas en distintas regiones. El presente trabajo de grado tiene por objetivo el diseño e implementación de una interfaz de software que facilite el análisis de secuencias de ADN a través de esta técnica. Para esto se adopta un tipo de estudio exploratorio, el cual permitirá el desarrollo de un proyecto que se convierte en un aporte al campo de las investigaciones referentes al análisis de secuencias genéticas. En esta investigación se toman como punto de partida las teorías y métodos de la filogenética especialmente el método UPGMA para realizar análisis de secuencias de ADN. El resultado de esta investigación está enmarcado dentro del área de la bioinformática y consta fundamentalmente de una interfaz de software que permite realizar análisis filogenético de secuencias de ADN a través del método UPGMA, y una monografía que recopila las teorías empleadas en el desarrollo.
