En los últimos años, debido a la creciente preocupación de la sociedad actual por tener una vida saludable, se ha producido un aumento de la práctica deportiva, actividad que se ha convertido en una forma tanto de competición como de ocio y turismo. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las posibilidades que tiene la isla de Lanzarote para convertirse en el destino de turistas que practican el ciclismo como un distintivo de calidad a la oferta ya existente y sobre todo estudiar si resulta rentable para las instituciones públicas y privada, haciendo especial mención a las motivaciones de los deportistas a la hora de elegir destino.

In recent years, due to the growing concern of today's society to have a healthy life, there has been an increase in sports, an activity that has become a form of competition as well as leisure and tourism. The objective of this work is to analyze the possibilities that the island of Lanzarote has to become the destination of tourists who practice cycling as a quality mark to the existing offer and especially to study if it is profitable for public and private institutions, making special mention to the motivations of the athletes when choosing a destination.
