La isla de Fuerteventura fue declarada Reserva de la Biosfera en el año 2009 por la UNESCO. Cada año recibe casi 2 millones de turistas que buscan disfrutar de sus kilométricas playas y maravilloso clima con una temperatura media de 21o grados aproximadamente acompañados de la brisa de los Vientos Alisios. Las motivaciones turísticas han ido cambiando con el paso de los años, y los turistas ya no quieren solamente sol y playa.
