Abstract

In the present work, spawning oí the mus sel and its larval development during the first 3 days were studied, in arder to determine its potential as fish latvae food. Combination of therrnal and mechanic stimulation was selected as the best method for spawning induction. The average number of eggs spawned by each individual was 9,102 X 106. The average sizes of laivae during the first 3 days of culture were estimated, and also ílotability and mortality rates.
