Comparación descriptiva de morfologías blowout bajo diferentes condiciones ambientales

Abstract

Blowout morphologies have been described by several authors as natural and intrinsic shapes to coastal dune systems, and defined as erosive platforms within the aeolian and sedimentary dynamic. The studies existing so far have focused on their physical and dynamic characterization, however only considering the features of the places where those works have been carried out. In this sense there not exist any work dealing about the comparison of these morphologies, although blowouts are recurrent on dune systems over the world. In this sense, the present work aims to establish an initial comparative approach between blowouts existing on different geographical places, under divergent conditions of genesis and dynamics: the dune complex of Cala Mesquida (Mallorca), an internal blowout of the system of Maspalomas (island of Gran Canaria), and finally several internal blowouts existing on the intertidal system of Carnota (Galícia). The divergence existing among the analyzed systems suggests the presence of some differences between the studied morphologies, which is related with their genesis and evolution.
