El salinómetro Autosal 8400B es un aparato de gran utilidad para la determinación de la salinidad (conductividad) del agua de mar, haciéndolo con un elevado grado de exactitud. Las medidas siempre se hacen en comparación con un patrón de salinidad conocido. Este equipo se utiliza para calibrar la salinidad medida tanto por el termosalinógrafo instalado a bordo como por los CTD
