Las micosis son generalmente raras en caprino y es necesario informar sobre ellas, especialmente cuando podrían estar implicados hongos zoonóticos. Una hembra de cabra canaria de un año de edad sufría una dermatosis cutánea bilateral que afectaba a las áreas terminales de ambas pinna. Se estudiaron los parámetros hematológicos y bioquímicos en sangre. Se realizaron cultivos microbiológicos. Entre los parámetros hematológicos, se encontraron valores superiores a los normales para los Glóbulos blancos y la Hemoglobina Corpuscular Media. En relación con las fracciones de Globulinas, los valores de Alfa1-globulinas e Inmunoglobulina G estaban por debajo de los rangos normales mientras que las fracciones de Alfa2-globulinas, Betaglobulinas y Gamma-globulinas estaban en rangos normales. En los cultivos microbiológicos se aislaron Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Aspergillus niger y Alternaria spp. a partir de muestras de la pinna derecha y Scopulariosis brevicaulis, Aspergillus niger y Rhizopus spp. a partir de muestras de la izquierda. Proponemos que esta infección fúngica mixta, causada por especies ubicuas, estaba relacionada con un estado de inmunosupresión, dados los bajos niveles de IgG encontrados en el paciente. Las personas que manipulan habitualmente animales deben tener en cuenta el potencial zoonótico de estos hongos.
Mycoses in goats are generally rare and it is necessary to report them, especially when zoonotic fungi could be involved. A 1-year-old female Canary goat was found to suffer from bilateral cutaneous dermatosis affecting terminal areas of both pinna. Blood hematological and biochemical parameters were studied. Microbiological cultures were done. Among hematological parameters, White Blood Cells and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration resulted higher than normal values. Concerning globulins fractions, while Alfa1-Globulins and immunoglobin G (IgG) were lower than normal ranges, fractions Alfa2-Globulins, Beta-Globulins and Gamma-Globulins were within normal ranges. Microbiological findings included isolation of Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Aspergillus niger and Alternaria spp. from samples of the right pinna and Scopulariosis brevicaulis, Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus spp. from samples of the left pinna. We proposed that this mixed fungi infection caused by ubiquitous species was related to immunosuppressive state, given the low levels of IgG found in the patient. Zoonotic potential of these fungi must be take into account especially by animal handlers.
